Thoughts Of The Week (December 21st)

What's good everyone. Welcome to this week's TOTW. Same old, same old in regards to the intro. The weather is still cold and I'm still hot... like Tinashe who's pic you can see below. I just clocked those sentences rhymed. I spit fire without even trying.

Anyways let's commence. Here are my thoughts of the week...

HIP HOP

Pusha T dropped his sophomore album on Friday and it's sounding eurgh! Surprisingly, longtime collaborators The Neptunes do not feature but in spite of this the production is still dope. Apart from the tunes I've mentioned in previous posts, other songs I'm feeling include Keep Dealing, MPA, Sunshine and the Intro. There's a Timbaland-produced track called Got Em Covered. The unorthodox instrumental seems like it would've been more suited to Missy Elliott but I feel it could grow on me. Either way, Pusha always puts out quality music and this is no exception. Even better is that this is just a warm-up to the main course King Push which should be out early 2016.

Chi-Town spitter Lupe Fiasco has revealed on Twitter that he will be dropping THREE full albums in 2016 with Drogas being first up. He didn't reveal much else apart from that there will be a follow up to Mural (one of my fave songs this year) titled Mural Jr and that lyrically it is a '*bunch of emoji's* of life'. I'm going to assume that Lupe bought his A+ game on that one like he did on the first.  Anyone that knows me knows I hold Lupe Fiasco's mic skills in high regard and I consider him to be one of the best rappers of this era. So if he raps to the standard that we all know he's capable of then 2016 and the new-school rapper crown almost certainly belongs to him.

The production for the highly-anticipated biopic of hip hop icon 2pac has finally started. The movie which is named after his classic double-disc album All Eyez On Me will be directed by Benny Boom. The cast consists of the gorgeous Kat Graham as Jada Pinkett-Smith. Demetrius Shipp will play the role of the star and Jamal Woolard aka Gravy will reprise his role as Brooklyn legend Biggie Smalls. I look forward to seeing this film and hopefully biopics of our hip hop heroes will continue.

When West Coast rapper Game isn't putting trolls like Stitches back under their bridge, thirst-trapping or doing interesting things with females in the park, it seems he likes to make music. Releasing two full length albums this year was a giveaway to be fair. He isn't slowing down and he posted a pic on Instagram of his upcoming project 1992. He would have been an early-teen at this time so I assume he will be speaking about his childhood. The release will have no features (massive surprise... Who's style is he going to Shang Tsung?) and will be produced solely by Bongo (who produced On Me on The Documentary 2). Game impressed with this year's LP's so this should be worth a listen.

Apparently the reason why Tyga was dumped by the woman with two mums aka Kylie Jenner is because she had discovered that he was sending texts to a 14 year old. I don't know if that's true or not but SMH if it is. Getting tired of hearing about that fool tbh.

FOOTBALL

Crazy week of football. Certain people are out of management jobs, going into different ones and I'm just about managing to keep up. With Chelsea just a point above the relegation zone, Roman Abramovich finally swung his axe and Jose Mourinho no longer manages Chelsea. Man Utd lose yet again to Norwich (a team just two points above the drop zone) and the fans and seemingly the players have had enough of the Dutchman. Listen yeah, I have an A in A-Level Philosophy (well RS but it's the same thing) so I certainly know a philosopher when I see one and LVG ain't no b*oodclart philosopher. Mourinho has stated he doesn't want to take a sabbatical and the timing to make changes is perfect. LVG Out, Mourinho In. Take away this nightmare half-season and 'the special one' has one of the best CV's in the business. Leave it in and he still does.

Pep Guardiola has announced he will be leaving Bayern Munich next season with Carlo Ancelotti set to take over. The Spaniard has been heavily linked to Manchester City (sick emoji) though Chelsea and Man Utd are thought to be keeping a close eye on things.

The prospect of seeing Jose Mourinho, Arsene Wenger, Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and Diego Simeone next season in the prem is definitely an exciting one.

Big up to both Watford and Leicester City. The newly-promoted side achieved an impressive victory over PL giant (on paper) Liverpool. Scored some great goals in the process also. Leicester City are still at the top of the mountain with five wins in their last six. It's a marathon not a sprint but fair play to them.

As much as I dislike Arsenal I'm not going to front on them. Major injuries haven't stopped them from achieving Mission: Highly Unlikely in the CL and winning their last three games. Their most recent being against PL favourites Man City. I'm not gonna say much else but yeah... Might have to mute some Arsenal fans from my social media accounts still.

LIFE

R&B superstar Chris Brown has been no stranger to controversy since 2009 and last Wednesday he went
on Twitter to condemn America's justice system and predicted that an uprising is imminent. I personally think a lot of people are scared to speak their minds so it's always refreshing to see people telling it like it is.

There was a poll that implied that young white men are 'the most hated group in Britain'. I found this rather surprising considering the demographic of people targeted by the police or portrayed negatively by the media look rather different. I'll leave it at that.

A millionaire was found not guilty of raping a young woman after he claimed he fell on her... SMH if you think money isn't important then this is clearly the reality check that you need.

Some idiots were unhappy with Serena Williams winning sportsperson of the year and feel that a horse should've won. I don't know how a horse could've won given that the title is called sportsper... why am I even explaining this? We all know why some people are angry. All I'm gonna say is big up Serena. Big up John Boyega too.

Bill Cosby has been silent in regards to the accusations of him committing rape. The actor who's reputation has been damaged (possibly beyond repair) has decided to fight back by suing seven of the women who have accused him. It will be interesting to see how it all ends.

Grime artist Stormzy has had a great two years becoming one of the biggest faces of the genre. Refereshingly, he has not let the fame get to him and is very much for the people as he showed up to a fan's house to watch soccer AM and bun a zoot lol. Fans are an integral part of any person's career (ask Drake, ask Beyonce... ask Meek Mill) so it's good to see that Stormzy values them. By the way #ShutUpForXmasNo1.

Thoughts Of The Week (December 14th)

What's up everyone. Welcome to this week's TOTW. Things have gone rather cold this week in terms of the subjects I cover on this blog. Do you know what hasn't gone cold though? Me. Why? Because I'm hot. #FireBarz

Anyways let's commence... Here are my thoughts of the week...

HIP HOP

Pusha T's King Push: Darkest Before Dawn is set to drop this Friday. The Virginia rapper who is one half of the immortal Clipse rarely disappoints when it comes to distributing them 'dope' bars. In the build-up, he has released the Timbaland-produced Untouchable, The-Dream assisted MFTR and most recently Crutches, Crosses, Caskets. Stellar musicians such as Q-Tip, Timbaland as well as Jill Scott have made contributions and based on these tracks, this sophomore LP is shaping up to be one of the best albums of 2015. This is the third week I've written about Pusha and I would like to wrap this up with... Eurgh!

Wretch 32 went hard on his new Fire In The Booth along with (who seems to be his protege) Avelino. The Tottenham lyricist is one of the best artists to come out of the UK in my opinion and it's good to see he hasn't lost his spark. Check that out.

Internet troll/rapper Stitches takes another L as he suffers yet another beatdown... This time at the hands of his 'friends'. Stitches claims they were paid by Game to do it but the attackers say different and if the allegations are true then it was deserved. I don't know much about Stitches but I don't like the guy and with any luck this is the last we hear of him.

Stans are some of the most annoying people on Earth. I'm not talking about the youngin from South Park. I'm talking about excessively obsessive, brainwashed fans that will blindly support a particular person no matter what. Arsenal stans annoy me, Michael Carrick stans annoy me and of course, male Drake stans annoy me. Some of you know that Meek Mill is facing jail after allegedly violating his probation and Drake stans are doing their part to make sure he does. Drake stans are always upping the levels in terms of moistness. If the male ones end up conceiving it wouldn't surprise me. Here's some footage of some male Drake fans and a pic below.

FOOTBALL

After getting knocked out of the Champions League, losing 2-1 to Bournemouth and playing Nytol football there is no shortage of reasons to jump on the #LVGOut bandwagon. If you need another reason though this might be one.

I will never forgive LVG for selling Rafael who was my favourite player at the club. Javier Hernandez (under Fergie) was also amongst my faves. The Mexican finisher has scored 18 goals in 21 apps this season which is more than Rooney and Martial combined. LVG messed up there. I would've much preferred Hernandez/Martial leading the Utd frontline. There's been paper talk of Rooney moving to China in a £75m move. It's probably b*llocks but if it's true, I'll take him to the airport myself and even escort him to Asia... I don't have a car and my passport's expired. The sooner Schmidfield and Herrera return, the better.

Fair play to Arsenal for completing Mission Highly Unlikely and advancing to the knockout stage of the Champion's League.

The thing is, that feat doesn't count for much as you are now faced with Mission Impossible against the current champions Barcelona. Do you know what that reminds me of? That's like 'going to hell and back' for a buff girl's number and when you bell her you hear 'The person you are trying to call (phone number) is unavailable.' or them ones when you hear *two rings and then the reject tone*. Peak times.

I know it's tough at present if you're a Man Utd fan but remember at least you're not a Chelsea fan. One point of relegation zone. A single slip-up and they're fully f*cked. I'm seriously baffled how they can go from champions to this. The truth will come out eventually.

Big up Leicester City, Claudio Ranieri and Riyad Mahrez. Five wins in their last six, you gotta give credit however long their run lasts.

LIFE

Serial rapist/scumbag Daniel Holtzclaw was found guilty for raping 13 black women in a slew of racially-motivated acts of evil. He is facing 200+ years in prison and it was truly satisfying seeing him cry like a little girl. Why was he crying? Was it because he felt a corrupt system would protect someone of his ilk? Quite possibly. Even though I am somewhat surprised he didn't get away with it, the act of rape is always unjustifiable plus the evidence ensured he could not be acquitted. Unfortunately in this system there will always be people that try to justify the atrocities that black people face. I saw a few tweets with people lowkey blaming victims of rape and even blaming black men that use insults such as slut etc. Turning your backs on the coons is something that should seriously be considered.

In what is seemingly become the norm, a group of men were refused entry into the Cameo nightclub in Bournemouth because they were black. Most managers of clubs don't outright say they're racist as that would put them in hot water but let's be real, they probably are. If you notice the youtube comments, you will see some trying to use non-racist cover-ups to justify the men being turned away. Racism normally hides behind non-racist excuses. Keep this in mind. As I've previously said, black-owned clubs are needed. This is the best solution to this ever-present problem.

It's been a good few weeks for the combative British athletes. Chris Eubank Jr victorious in his fight, Tyson Fury becoming world heavyweight champion, Conor Mc Gregor winning his UFC fight in 13 seconds and Anthony Joshua won his hard-fought match against Dilian Whyte. Big up to the Olympic gold medalist. He has won all his fights by knockout and is widely-tipped to become a future world champion. It would be great for a British boxer to add some excitement to the heavyweight division.
