Thoughts Of The Week

I'm back everyone! Everyone I'm back! I'm back like the Terminator, I'm back like Mase, I'm back like Eminem, I'm back like what that chick's got in that Sir Mix-A-Lot track. (That was wack. I don't care. F**k off).

Did you lot miss me? Yeah you did miss me innit. Of course you did, of course you did. So I return to this blog. Bare tumbleweed, mad dust. Checking my stats. Shout out to the people in Russia, Poland, Germany, France, Indonesia etc reading my posts on a random one. Do you lots even understand English though? Safe for checking in same way. Feel free to check my previous posts if you ever need a quick fix of trumour (truth & humour). I'm the Heisenberg of honesty and humour you feel me?.. Well so I've been told anyway.

This is my first post since the end of 2012 (remember them times when everyone was gassing about the world ending? Fools lol). I'm considering doing a 'Thoughts Of The Week' post on a regular basis as a means of keeping consistent which is something this blog lacked previously.

Anyways, here are my thoughts of the week... (note- I was supposed to post this last week but I never got round to it. Seeing as I've already written it, I decided to post it anyway).

HIP-HOP
After Meek Mill removed his lacklustre response to Drake's Back To Back off his Soundcloud account, it's safe to assume that he's accepted defeat in his beef with the Canadian superstar.  Some speculate that he could come back with an Ether-esque diss track. The difference however is that Nas is a known lyricist and had already dropped one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time before he made Ether. Meek Mill isn't a lyricist and doesn't have any classic albums so to say he has it in him seems a bit far-fetched.

Starting something you can't finish is a bad look.

Guess she said no.

I've always said that these road guys are mad emotional. Almost to the same level as males that are 'soft' or 'moist'. Meek has further validated my point with his twitter rant which has potentially led to his thriving career receiving a KO blow. Sometimes you just gotta overlook certain things and get on with it. Not everything has to be broadcasted.

Now that Dr Dre has finally released the follow up to his sophomore album 2001, Jay Electronica! F**k that call him Jay ElecHanukkah, Jay ElecYarmulke, Jay... you know what f**k that too, you know the rest. Jay man, the hip-hop world is waiting for you. It's alleged that Shawn Carter described the album as 'scary good'. If that's the case you gotta drop that debut LP and give us true hip hop fans what we want!

Speaking of albums I look forward to hearing, Little Simz aka King Simbi (she's a female by the way) will soon be releasing her debut album A Curious Tale Of Trials + Persons. The talented North Londoner is currently one of my favourite artists and has earned co-signs from the likes of Kendrick Lamar. I do my fair share of downloading but I will be purchasing this album. Check out Wings from her upcoming album.

Highly respected Brooklyn rapper Sean Price sadly passed away on the 8th August. In life. In whatever field of profession, there are some people that are overrated while some are underrated. The Heltah Skeltah rapper unfortunately falls into the latter category. I have to admit myself that although I was well aware of who he was, I'm not the go-to guy when it comes to Sean Price's music. With every rapper, some people are up to speed on them while others are not. It is what it is. With this being said, be sure to check out Sean Price's music. Music is immortal thus it's never too late to hear an artist's work. Also take a look at Big Ghost's hilarious review of Sean Price's 2012 release Mic Tyson (scroll down past the Meek review).

Mos Def vs Lupe Fiasco would have made for a dope battle. I definitely would've been more entertained by that in comparison to Drake vs Meek Mill. Them bars that Lupe posted on IG was mad. There were like 3 double entendres on the last line.

Bare fire emojis

This week on a random one, I decided to give Eminem's Infinite a listen as I've heard numerous times that he got his style from Nas & AZ. From listening to the album, I could hear the influence but I still liked the album nonetheless. I reckon if it was released today it would get better reviews than when it was released in 1996.

FOOTBALL

I'm a Man Utd fan so this section might be a bit... well it will be a bit more focused on Man Utd.

I'm still laughing at the way Badman Januzaj sent Micah Richards to buy him a packet of skittles for the opening goal.

It's a bit early but with Petr Cech looking more like a problem than the solution, do you think Arsene Wenger will be looking for another keeper?

Why do I get the feeling that Arsene Wenger will end up signing players at 5.59pm on the 1st September? (The window shuts 1st September at 6pm by the way).

Will it be an Ozil 2.0 or a Welbeck 2.0?

£49m for Sterling. £35m for Andy Carroll. £30m for Luke Shaw. Harry Kane supposedly valued at £40m. John Stones at £30m+. Ross Barkley at £50m. Reece Oxford at £60m. Some of the prices was made up boll*cks. With that being said, why are English players excessively overvalued?

People often say that losing games doesn't matter early in the season. Listen, dropping just one point is fatal in the Premiership. Man Utd lost the title by a single point in 2010 and on goal difference in 2012. When you're watching Premier League Years with a screwface because you realised your team winning or even drawing that match could have won them the title; got them into Europe or kept them up, you'll know then that losing points is bad regardless.

Man Utd still need a CB and a striker if they're to reclaim the Premiership. A CB especially. I rather see Faith Evans than Jonny Evans with his dumb-looking expression going up against Sergio Aguero.

Aston Villa have signed a young winger named Adama Traore from Barcelona (LOL Liverpool). I'm interested to see how he fares in the Premiership. He's built like an absolute tank.

These tabloids know f**k all about transfers. If you want my recommendation, I'd seriously follow Agent Edward. He's most active on Twitter.

LIFE (Everything Else Basically)

Last Thursday, A-Level students collected their results. I hope everyone did well. Many of you will be starting university in September. As an university graduate, I sincerely hope that this major decision assists you in whatever goal you're trying to achieve. If you're going university, make sure you've made the right choice as no one wants to waste 3+ years and roughly 30 grand.

For those taking their A-Levels this year, make sure your coursework is on point. It will play a major role in your final grade.

On 7th August (if I'm not mistaken), 14 year old Radazz Hearns was shot 7 times by police in New Jersey. Surprise surprise, he was black and unarmed. Thankfully, the youngster managed to survive. The boy reportedly cried out 'Why did they have to shoot me?' after this disturbing incident occurred. Fortunately for a change, the world should be able to get Radazz Hearn's side of the story. Something that many of the black victims in America have been unable to give.

I wanna say well done to Toyosi Sadare who attained 4 A* in his A Levels. I rarely watch mainstream television nowadays but I doubt anything's changed (correct me if I'm wrong though). If you took everything shown on mainstream TV as gospel, you may not think too highly of black people (it would also make you gullible and ignorant). So it's always good to see positive news like this get some exposure.

Power is THAT show. As mentioned in the last paragraph, I don't watch too much TV but this show is a must watch. This show is on it's way to being up there with The Wire, Breaking Bad, The Sopranos and of course... The Simpsons lol.

A tornado of fire and 100 emojis.

And that concludes tonight's 'Thoughts Of The Week' installment. What are your thoughts of the week?
Feel free to comment but please keep it civilised.

Peace Out!
