I'm gonna be rinsing these ones out |
Here's a pic of Vashtie Kola who's hotter than hot sauce.
Anyways let's commence... Here are my thoughts of the week....
HIP HOP
The raspy-voiced Jadakiss dropped his fourth solo LP Top 5 Dead Or Alive on Friday. Jada sticks to the tradition of having an album with a high number of tracks and features. The songs I'm feeling as of now include the soulful opening track First 48, You Don't Eat, Rain which features Nas, Kill which is worth the listen partly for the hilariously hyper Lil' Wayne and my favourite song thus far Synergy featuring tag-team partner Styles P. Produced by the legendary Just Blaze, it feels like the sequel to the classic We Gon' Make It. Incredible song. I don't know about you but whenever I listen to a Just Blaze beat, I feel ten feet tall (f*ck off with the short jokes). Definitely one of my favourite producers ever. Taking the title into consideration, I'm a big fan of the LOX lyricist but I'm gonna have to throughly listen to his discography as well as this new offering before I say I agree. He's arguably in my top 10, definitely in my top 20.
Speaking of top five's and top 10's, who saw Billboard's top 10 rappers feature? Cos the hip-hop world saw that and lost their minds. To my knowledge most people strongly disagreed. I'm not going to spend much time on this but the iconic 2pac (who is arguably the face of hip-hop) did not feature on the list at all while the likes of Lil Wayne did... but hey it's all opinion. These writers from Complex, Spin, Billboard etc have all written something that makes me think 'Man if you don't shut the f*ck up'. Articles that make me wanna slam their laptop cover on their fingers like in that Harlem Nights scene with the piano (couldn't find the video on youtube). Don't let the mainstream gas you. Just because a popular person/magazine etc says it doesn't mean it's true. One of the reasons I restarted this blog was to offer an alternative perspective on topics that some are reluctant to truthfully speak about. Have a look at this interesting video. Who's your top 10 rappers?
Tyga's had a nightmare week... A nightmare year even... but the past few days have seen the suspected child-predator endure a couple haymakers much to the amusement of me, myself and millions. I in no way shape or form feel sorry for him. His ex-girlfriend Blac Chyna starred in a steamy video with trap artist Future titled Rich $ex which was released on his birthday in an Ether-esque move. To make matters worse, on that same day he and Kylie Jenner split up. She then maliciously snapped herself dancing to Future's new single. As if that wasn't bad enough, she was spotted leaving the club with A$AP Rocky to, what I suspect, receive some A$AP cocky. #Bars. Tyga is the new Yung Berg and to that I say LOL.
Two bits of news for MMG fans and those that follow whatever's poppin'. Rick Ross and Meek Mill have both disclosed info regarding their upcoming projects. Meek Mill (who like Tyga is having a bad year) has revealed the cover art to his Dreamchasers 4 mixtape with the label head claiming that it's 'phenomenal'. Rick Ross's new album Black Market is due to drop on December 4th with John Legend, Nas, DJ Premier, Mary J Blige amongst others featuring. I'm not the biggest fans of either but they have put out some bangers so let's see what happens. Doesn't look like Wale will be on any of them :-p.
Virginia wordsmith Pusha T has dropped the visuals to his dope new single Untouchable. His older brother and partner-in-rhyme No Malice spoke with MTV over the possibility of a reunion. The duo haven't released a Clipse album since 2009 and creative differences is what's hindering the chances of a fourth. The combo are arguably my favourite rap group/duo ever so I would be haps if they managed to get back in the studio with The Neptunes. Let's hope they come to an agreement.
For now, hear this smooth throwback classic.
FOOTBALL
13 games in. Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool. All of these teams in the PL. Guess who's on top of the table? B*oodclart Leicester City. For now I will say well done to the in-form side who have won five league games in their last six. However their next five matches see the foxes go up against Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and a top of the table clash with Man Utd next week. After that I'm sure it will be normal service resumed. Mourinho certainly thinks so.
Dutch forward Memphis Depay returned to the Utd side amid claims that he's turned over a new leaf. He's shown this in the best way possible netting in Man Utd's 2-1 victory over Watford. With Rooney & Martial injured, we needed someone to step up and thankfully Memphis delivered. LVG has hinted that his best role is upfront so maybe we'll see him leading the line more often... anyone but Rooney.
Arsenal's injury crisis has taken a turn for the worse as Francis Coquelin (a star player for many) has been ruled out for at least two months after injuring his knee in their 2-1 defeat against West Brom. Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Welbeck and Rosicky are all out but this was the one that fans feared the most. Some have claimed that with the tough-tackling Coq out of action, the team is now straight p*ssy. It was always likely that Arsene Wenger's failure to sign an outfield player would come back to bite him on the derriere and that time is now. Given the Frenchman's importance to the gunners, I did think that it would be beneficial to sign another defensively-sound midfielder but we all know what Wenger's like. The North London side have a reputation of capitulating and losing a defensive midfielder of Coquelin's ability is the jenga block that shouldn't have been pulled. I look forward to these pseudo-journalists gassing up the heads of gooners by linking them to world class talent in January. I heard that Arsenal are in talks to sign Paul Pogba. Know where I heard that? Thin air.
Liverpool thrashed Man City 4-1 in a big win for Jurgen Klopp's side. Comparing Mangala/Demichelis to Kompany/Otamendi is like comparing Tyga's year in hip hop to Kendrick Lamar's. How Mangala is the PL's most expensive defender is baffling. Aguero scored a banger on his return but Skrtel sealed the win with a brilliant goal of his own. Embarrassing the PL favourites could be read as a statement of intent and maybe they can surprise everyone by securing a CL spot. Someone else who can achieve that is Spurs manager Pochettino who guided his team to their third league win in four matches. Two points of fourth place, the PL is starting to get interesting.
Did anyone enjoy the 4-0 murkage of Real Madrid by Barca like I did? I don't like Real Madrid. I like the players but their fans and Florentino Perez, I do not. Because of them, I enjoy any moment they buckle. Completely dominated and outclassed, only De Gea could've saved them from this type of spanking :-). Iniesta scored a banger and Neymar, who scored his 12th league goal in 11, is proving that he's one of the best players in the world.
LIFE
Judge Olu Stevens, a court judge from Kentucky is facing removal from criminal cases for banning all-white juries. For decades, all-white juries have been instrumental in blacks suffering miscarriages of justice (George Stinney springs to mind) so I understand and respect why Olu Stevens made the courageous decision he made. A rally is being held for Judge Stevens. Let's hope he gets to continue judging criminal cases as he certainly seems to be about fairness.
I suspect Donald Trump to be an aspiring Hitler. The complete buffoon posted up some nonsense, inaccurate stats in a bid to justify racial injustice towards blacks. You know, that whole 'what about black-on-black crime?' rubbish. The usual b*llocks. Trump also believes that Muslims should have to carry special ID's. Apparently, Donald Trump's ex-wife Ivana said that he used to keep speeches of Hitler by his bed. This would not surprise me in the slightest. It's unlikely that Trump will become US president but given how sheepish people can be, you never know.
There will soon be a new documentary on BBC Three called Young, Trans And Looking For Love. The documentary is self-explanatory and I have zero plans in viewing this programme but one quote that captured my attention was from transgender Claire. The person said 'Straight guys just cant get over you having the male parts.' You reckon mate? Why would you expect to date a straight guy if you have a penis and a set of nuts? Why do I even need to explain this? Come on bro.
A man by the unique and humorous name of Phuc Dat Bich had to go to great lengths to stop his facebook profile from being taken down. After being successful in this quest, he thanked his supporters in a noble gesture. If I'm not mistaken there was a popular rap song named after him. On the plus side, he can always hide behind the 'I'm just saying my name' excuse if he loses his temper with a female.
Bad news for Dominic Celaire and his ilk as apparently oral sex is set to overtake smoking as the main cause for mouth cancer. A high-profile case of this was Hollywood actor Michael Douglas who has since recovered. These types of tings don't even apply to me. I don't participate in them type of shenanigans you get me. However nuff man are into these activities on the sly so being the thoughtful man that I am, I had to let you know wagwhan. It looks like some people have already heard the devastating news.
And that concludes this week's TOTW. Feel free to comment but please keep it civilised.
Peace Out!
